Kirsten Bridegan, the widow of Jared Bridegan, holds her daughter London as she poses with Palatka Police Officers and staff in the Palatka Police Department in front of a “Bexley Box” on Friday, September 29, 2023.
Kirsten Bridegan, visited the Police department with members of her family and area law enforcement officers to deliver the Bexley Box to the police department in honor of her late husband, who was murdered in Jacksonville Beach in February of 2022.
The Bexley Boxes, which contain items such as stuffed animals, toys, coloring books, diapers, and other items, have been distributed to law enforcement agencies across the county by the “Bridegan Foundation” in memory of Jared Bridegan and in honor of his daughter Bexley, who is now three years old and was with her father at the time of his murder. The boxes contain items to comfort children, who, like Bexley, have to spend extended periods of time in the care of law enforcement after a tragedy.
The first “Bexley Box” was given to the Jacksonville Beach Police Department, where Bexley spent time the night her father was shot and killed.
