[ARCHIVED] Postcard Information

postcard_facebook

In June and July, some residents of the City of Palatka have received a postcard with the City logo from Orange Data, a Sarasota-based technology company specializing in public records and property registration.

The City of Palatka has contracted Orange Data to facilitate the registration of vacant, foreclosed, blighted, unsecured, or abandoned structures in the city. Due to technical difficulties at the company, the mailing was sent to more residents than intended.

If you receive this postcard and your property is NOT vacant, foreclosed, blighted, unsecured, or abandoned, you do not have to take any action.

For more information on how to determine if your property is vacant, foreclosed, blighted, unsecured, or abandoned, call the City Code Enforcement Department at (386) 329-0100 ext. 325.

“The postcards are an outreach effort to remind residents of their obligation to self-report and register their properties if the property falls into one of the categories described in the code - foreclosed, blighted, unsecured, or vacant/abandoned,” City Manager Troy Bell said. “Unfortunately, some postcards were sent to properties that don't warrant any action by the property owner because they don't fall into those categories. Thus, if a resident receives one of the postcards and the conditions don't apply, they may disregard the notice. If the conditions do, however, apply, property owners are responsible for registering their property with Orange Data. The City thanks the residents of Palatka for their patience as we work through this process of beautifying our community by complying with our long-standing property registration requirements.”

Orange Data partners with more than 30 governments in Florida to provide services, including the City of Ocala, Sarasota County, and the Orange County Tax Collector. More information on Orange Data can be found at www.orangelien.com. Orange Data replaced the City’s previous service provider, ProChamps, which filed for liquidation in June of 2023.
