The City of Palatka is committed to making its streets
safe for all people, whether you walk, bike, or drive, with
the goal of zero fatalities and serious injuries by 2033. As
a proud recipient of a Safe Streets and Roads for All
(SS4A) Grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation, the City is
developing a “Safety Action Plan” to guide future policies, projects, and
strategies to reach this goal.
The St. Johns Avenue Streetscape Improvement Project – 2026 is a project covering the 400 block through the 1100 block of St. Johns Avenue includes new sidewalks, underground electrical infrastructure for street lighting, and final site improvements such as landscaping, trees, benches, bike racks, and trash receptacles. Construction will be completed in phases, with each block expected to take approximately five weeks (two weeks per sidewalk side and one week for weather or unforeseen delays).
