[ARCHIVED] CITY EMPLOYEES TO BE RECOGNIZED FOR HEROIC MEASURES

Heros are Ordinary People

On November 19, 2019, while on their regular collection route, Unit 84 Sanitation Employees Deon Fells, Robert Boone & Tremaine Watts witnessed a citizen having a medical emergency. They called 911 and stayed with her until emergency personnel arrived on scene.  The citizen they rendered aid to credits these gentlemen with saving her life.

These employees will be recognized for their heroic measures by the Palatka City Commission at its Regular December 12, 2019 meeting, which begins at 6:00 p.m.  They were observant enough to recognize that a citizen was in distress and needed professional medical attention. They knew to call 9-1-1 and stayed with her while awaiting professional medical assistance from trained ambulance personnel.
