[ARCHIVED] Precautionary Boil Water Notice Rescinded

11:00 AM Saturday September 20, 2014

At approximately 8:30pm on Thursday, September 18, 2014, there was a loss of pressure in the City’s Water Distribution System due to a power outage caused by a lightning strike at the Water Treatment Plant. With the loss of pressure there is a possibility that the water may have become contaminated with harmful bacteria. Therefore, the City issued a precautionary boil water notice to all of its customers. The City collected samples of the water throughout the City to perform bacteriological testing to ensure that the water has not been contaminated.

The samples taken to the laboratory for bacteriological analysis tested negative for bacteriological contamination. At this time we are rescinding the Precautionary Boil Water Notice that was issued on Thursday evening. Customers no longer need to boil the water before consumption. Thank you!
