RE:                   Blue Crab Festival

The Blue Crab Festival is Memorial Day weekend, Friday May 27, 2022, through Sunday, May 29, 2022, and the following traffic control, road closures and boating access to the City roadways and boat ramps will be in effect:

  • Starting on Friday May 27, 2022, St. Johns Avenue from the Riverfront Park to the Court House at South 5th Street will have a soft closure (with traffic cones) starting at 1 PM.        Traffic will be allowed to leave the area but not enter the area once the closure begins.  All vehicles must be moved from this area prior to 3 PM.  All vehicles not removed by the 3 PM deadline will be towed at the owner’s expense.

  • Vendors for the festival will be granted access to St. Johns Avenue at South 3rd Street & Laurel Street and at South 5th Street and St. Johns Avenue.  Vendors will also be allowed to exit St. Johns Avenue from both locations.

  • Access to St. Johns Avenue from the Riverfront Park to the Court House will be officially closed off with concrete barriers at the cross streets at 3 PM.

  • Boats will be allowed to access the docks throughout the festival. However, on Saturday, May 28th boats will not be allowed to enter or leave the dock after 7 PM due to the fireworks show. The fireworks will be launched from a barge which will be anchored in the river. Boaters must remain a minimum of 750 feet from the barge during the fireworks show.
