Memorial Day Weekend Schedule and Closings in Palatka

Street Closures: Due to the Blue Crab Festival, St. Johns Avenue and Memorial Parkway in Palatka will be closed to vehicles from 6th St. to the riverfront starting at noon on Friday, May 26. These streets will reopen on the morning of Memorial Day, Monday, May 29. Additionally, sections of St. Johns Ave. will be closed on Memorial Day for a parade. The parade will start at 10 a.m. and proceed down St. Johns Ave. from the Post Office to the riverfront.
Boat Ramp and Parking: The Palatka boat ramp in Riverfront Park will remain open during the festival, but no parking will be available for trailers. Paid parking lots for the Blue Crab Festival will be offered, and free on-street parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that a very limited number of handicapped parking spaces will be available in the lot on the corner of Reid Street and Memorial Parkway during the festival. Visitors are reminded not to park on private property and to adhere to no parking signs.
Holiday Closings: On Monday, May 29, Palatka City Hall, the Police Department lobby, Public Works, Gas Authority, and other administrative offices of the City of Palatka will be closed in observance of Memorial Day. These offices and departments will reopen on Tuesday, May 30, during regular business hours. For utility payments, online payments can be made at www.palatkagasauthority.com or by phone at 1-866-869-5955 (pay ID # required). Customers can contact 386-329-0107 for water or public works emergencies and 386-328-1591 for gas emergencies.

Garbage Collection:
Household Collection: Residential customers with Monday and Thursday pickups will have their garbage collected on Tuesday and Thursday. Customers with Tuesday and Friday pickups will have their garbage collected on Wednesday and Friday.
Yard Trash Collection: There will be no yard trash pickup during this period.
Commercial Dumpsters: The collection schedule for commercial dumpsters will remain the same.
Fireworks: Pet owners should be aware that fireworks will be launched from the riverfront at 8:45 p.m. on Saturday, May 27. It is advised to keep skittish animals indoors during this time.
