CRA Building Improvement Grant Program
Grant Cycle Open: May 1 – June 15, 2025
The City of Palatka Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) is now accepting applications for the Building Improvement Grant Program, designed to support exterior rehabilitation of residential and commercial properties located within CRA Districts. This cost-share reimbursement program helps property owners address visual blight, code violations, and structural issues that hinder revitalization.
Program Overview
The Building Improvement Grant offers:
- 50% reimbursement for projects under $50,000
- Maximum reimbursement of $25,000 for projects $50,000 or more
Projects must be new (work started before grant approval won’t be funded) and completed within 12 months of grant approval. Only exterior improvements performed by licensed contractors are eligible.
Who can apply?
To be eligible, a project must:
- Be located within a CRA District
- Involve significant exterior repairs
- Be completed by a licensed contractor
- Involve taxable property, or convert non-taxable to taxable
- Not have received CRA funding in the past 10 years
- Submit a complete application package
- Score at least 35 points (out of 50) from the Tax Increment Fund Advisory Committee based on urgency, impact, alignment with CRA goals, and financial readiness
